I have so much fun working on these pictures of my kiddos. I dont work on them as pictures of *my* kids, but rather as subjects of everyday life, they do happen to *be* my kids, and that affords me the opportunity to spend many hours a day meditating on each one of them in turn. There is little in this world that will bring you closer to a loved one than to dwell on them singly for three or four hours on end. Sometimes it is so overwhelming I have to stop and go upstairs to give whichever kid I am currently painting a hug, and tell them I love them.
