Summer of Our Discontent, to me embodies a feeling as ubiquitous to childhood as playing in the sprinkler, or eating watermelon at the pool. While touring Brookgreen Gardens, SC with my children this spring, for the second time in two days, the children were getting hot, and tired, and very petulant. While I was taking pictures they sat on this bench and waited for me to finish. As I turned around, I was presented with this spectacle experienced by every child who has ever been forced to sit through their parents interest.
