I was driving home from swimming at the Y last winter, and as I turned onto Jared Drive, I was struck by the scene before me. The sunrise hitting the steam plumes from Eastman, like fire in the sky. I have always been in awe of the enormous complexity of Eastman, and the superior competence of the men it takes to run such a machine. I looked up and saw the streaks in the sky made by one of the most complex machines known to man, all juxtaposed in the same image. Everytime I see it, I have to stop and thank God for giving us such men, and pray that he will not let this spark of Competence wink out from the earth.
